This week we will be visiting the Flint Ridge Ancient Quarries and Nature Preserve.

The Flint Ridge Ancient Quarries and Nature Preserve is a remarkable historic site located in Glenford, Ohio. This area, significant for its ancient flint quarries, was used by the mound builder Indians who extracted flint from numerous pits, which are still visible along the quarry trail. The flint was essential for their survival and used to make various tools. The preserve offers over 3 miles of trails for visitors to explore year-round. An excavated pit and other fascinating displays can be seen inside the on-site museum.
