Five Rainy Day Activities in Lake County

After some rainy summer weeks, it seems only right to explore some of the different opportunities Lake County offers to enjoy indoor activities when the weather outside is uncooperative. Fortunately, there are many ways to spend a rainy day, but we wanted to share some of our favorite activities in Lake County. Here are some fun indoor activities to try out the next time it rains:

  1. Go Back in Time
    Lake County is home to a variety of museums and historical sites, so you can go back in time and explore! Enjoy an incredible view of Lake Erie at the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Light House, learn about the early American Frontier at Historic Kirtland, or check out the home of James A.   2. Get Creative
    When you’re feeling inspired but it’s a rainy day, check out a local business that will help you express your creativity You can make your own candle with a customized scent at Cleveland Candle Co., or do a variety of the activities offered at Busy Bee Pottery & Arts Studio, like painting your own pottery, creating mosaics, and more. And don’t forget, you can always check out your local craft store for fun activities to do at home!
  3. Get Active Inside
    Need to burn some energy? Find a fun, indoor activity like ice skating, bowling, and more to stay active! Check out the free skate times or take lessons to learn how to skate at the Mentor Ice Arena. Take your shot at strikes and spares by joining a league or getting friends together to bowl a few frames at places like Roll House Mentor, Rich Lanes, Wickliffe Lanes, or any other bowling alley in Lake County.   4. Enjoy a Locally Crafted Adult Beverage
    Did you know that Lake County is home to a tremendous variety of wineries, breweries and distilleries? For residents age 21+, you can enjoy an adult beverage while learning about the processes involved in making beer, wine, and liquor right in our own county!   5. Find a New Coffee Shop
    A little caffeine can perk up a rainy day, and fortunately, Lake County has many local coffee shops to explore! Check out the local coffee, teas, and vegan goods at Starfish and Coffee, pair your coffee with homemade breakfast items at 1922 Coffee & Brew Company, sweeten things up with a donut Sunday from Fiona’s, or try a fun summer special like the Crumble Berry Latte from Arabica Coffee House.
